LRO rod building class?

Have you ever thought about holding a rod building class at the shop?

2 days over a weekend. Cover the basics of building a graphite fly rod. When the class finishes on Sunday all students would head out to the Little River to test out their new rods.

I'm not sure if you have a vendor for fly rod building supplies? If you did and you required registration well in advance, customers could custom order their rod blanks, inserts, reel seats, guides, etc.. during registration. Or you could offer several pre-packaged options for the customer to choose from.

Every new rod needs a new reel and fly line so I see it as being a good source of incremental sales for your business too.

I agree, this idea is right behind tying your own flies. While I do not have the time to put into a bamboo rod, completeing a Sage blank would add to the ownership of the sport. Good idea UofM

If I'm not mistaken, I think LRO used to offer rod building classes taught by a gentelmen named Stan Smart. I'm not sure what happened.
