Default Smallmouth

I went out wading out on Ft Loudon Lake tonight and caught my first tennessee river smallmouth on a fly. I had a couple questions on catching these fish. What flies do you guys find to be effective on these fish and what are some areas that you can fish on the tennessee river near knoxville?

As far as fly selction goes most any streamer as long as its black, white, or chartruse. personaly l have better luck w/ bh black wooly booger. When you fish places like the Tellico and Little rivers you can get em on poppers. I live on the lower end of Ft Loudon and fish it alot, not specificly for smallies but they end up getting alot of my attention. I try to find rock piles , gravel bars, and drop offs. best of luck to ya and let us know how your next adventure goes.
