Default Rock Creek

The generators were finally slowing down at the Cumberland so I rushed off last Thursday. When I got there, the flow wasn't too bad to wade, but the water was too high to get out very far. So, I decided to finally go try Rock Creek since I was only an hour away. What a great stream, one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I caught a few fish then back to Louisville. Unable to get Rock Creek off my mind, I went back Tuesday night through Thursday and camped out. I caught fish in every part of the stream and mapped the best section for future use. If you havn't been here, the fishing is great and the scenery was amazing. If you are a bird lover, there were barred owls everywhere.
Tight Lines,
Chris Fisher

It's in Big South Fork Recreation Area around Whitley City KY. It runs between TN and KY.

I used to fish Rock Creek several times when I lived in Lexington. I was a fun stream but remote. I think I heard dueling banjo once back in there! I am glad my old Scout didn't break down in there.

Good to hear it's still doing well.

I think Bee Rock is on the Rockcastle River and closer to Somerset. The campground I usually stay at while on Rock Creek is Great Meadows. It's up closer to the headwaters. There is also a horse campground called Bell Farm that's in lower portion of the creek.
