The tailwater section of the Toccoa River stays cool through the summer. I've never fished it, but it has a reputation as a good dry fly tailwater. www.thefishhawk.com has a Toccoa fishing report.

Hans
We have fished the Toccoa several times during the summer and always have worn waders. It stays nice and cool. They stocked Brookies recently...I caught my first Brookie ever back in April at Horseshoe Bend. The folks at Unicoi Outfitters in Blue Ridge are very helpful and friendly. Rachel |

Do you have any experience from Chattooga?

Have not been there Hans. You may check out the message board on this site:
http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ngto/ I have seen some info there about the Chattooga. Hope this helps! |

Trout Unlimited's TV show "On the Rise" featured the Chattooga last week. Pretty good episode.

Steve,
I saw it somewhat. I had visitors so I couldn't really pay attention to the show. Do you recall if they said anything about water temps in the heat of summer? |
