Don't forget Flyfishing and Tying Journal as well, Frank Amato Publications. I have subscribed to it for almost a decade. A high quality publication. I have seen it in Europe also, which tells me it has a following in potential markets for you overseas.

That's a favorite of mine also, edited by Dave Hughes.

Thanks Hans and Steve,

I will check into those magazines. I completely forgot about them. I talked to the Sales Manager at Fly Fisherman today. We had a good conversation that ended with plans to work together in the future. I also talked to Joe Humphreys today about Troutfest and we got into a conversation about magazines and how the internet has changed the landscape. I found out that one magazine is shutting down. More could follow.

Hans, We got a grant from TWRA for the Fall Little River Cleanup. We can use it for gloves, printed T-Shirts and a cookout if we want to. I forgot to ask how much money it is. I told Tom Eustis who applied for it to have the check deposited in the Little River Chapter account and earmarked for the cleanup. You, David, Jeff and someone from MTFF can make the decision on how it should be spent.

Steve, I haven't seen you in a couple of months. Send me an e-mail and let's catch up. Or better yet, come on over to ET and let's chat.

Byron

On the subject of fly shops in other locations, while traveling in Colorado, I ran across Back Country Anglers in Pagosa Springs, CO (www.backcountryanglers.com) as well as a couple of fly shops in Telluride. The one in Pagosa Springs was included in with an overall rafting, back country cycling, general outdoors shop.

It was interesting to see how similar the fly selection was in CO - one exception was an abundance of streamers, presumably to try and fish the streams out there during the snow run off for those who just can't wait for it to subside (from the looks of it out there, it's going to be a few weeks yet). There were a couple of variations on local favorites including an EHC with a peacock collar and a dual white wing Adams that looked like a cross between our familiar Adams and a Thunderhead. I got a sampling of each of those just to see how our natives would respond. For the most part, though, the fly selection was very familiar - just abundantly more expensive.

Byron, Good news, I wasn't even aware of this grant. I have felt a little out of the loop on this lately. I guess we need to pick up on our communication channels.
Anyway, I'm going to have to consult with Dave and our club. I don't want to take any glory off of Tom Eustis and TU because that is a very nice accomplishment but I do feel our local ETFFF club need to have a small say as well as MTFFF. I specifically remember Vern and I having a long online discussion about this. Anyhow, Good News and is the date still Sept 13?
