Default Trophy Stream

I posted this question to Caught 108 and now I'll ask everyone else. Here goes: Do you think that the park needs to have a trophy section on Little River with a one fish slot limit? The slot would be any thing 18 to 24 inches a person could keep if they wanted to. Any thing under or over these numbers a person would have to release. Lets take a pole... For or against, Let the voting begin. Also write why you are for or against. Myself I would be for it, because I like to fish for big fish and it would help the over all size of the fish in this section.

May God Bless You... John 8:12

I think the best way to grow a trophy fish would be to have fishermen keep a few when they go. Less fish means less competition for food. With more food available, there would be fewer, but larger fish.

( against ) I think part of making a trophy fish so special is how it came to be a trophy fish against all odds.

Against. I keep a few small fish every now and then, hopefully to help there be some bigger fish. I usually let th big ones go, their genes need to be in the creeks spawning. Also, when a fish reaches Monster status the meat isn't as good, it gets a little bit strong for me. I'll stick tho the 7 inch specks or 8 inch rainbows, good and tasty.

I would like to see people release all the large browns they catch but that's just me. Unfortunately I don't think there is a good enough food base in the park streams so that special regs would make much difference...

Against. But I would be in favor of a rule change in the park that would encourage people to keep more and smaller fish; like a creel limit of 5 total trout, all species, any size.

Fly man Bill thats something to think about I dont think it would hurt anything to make a trophy section but as we both know there are some monster browns in little river already and they do eat rainbows I dont know how many rainbows they have stolen from me Im not sure but kinda afraid they would slowly but surely take over the whole river so I would be undecided lets go fishing tomorrow mourning and talk some more sincerly caught 108
