Default Love those panfish

Here in C-bus, the ice is still covering some of the water. I went to a pond Saturday because I needed to fish bad. The Steelhead streams are still blown out. I had to cast over some ice to get to the open water, but I did catch 3 nice 'Gills. They had a beautiful copper sheen to them. Man it felt good!!!!!!!
To Miss Nancy - she hated fishing, but loved a fisherman.

I have many times called the pumpkinseeds / green sunfish warm water brookies.

They are eager to take a fly, they are beautifully colored, they are scrappy fighters when hooked and are readily accessible to most fishermen.

The perfect fish as far as I'm concerned. I just love them.

I read a quote somewhere recently..."If bluegill grew up to 5lbs, no one would even bother fishing for largemouth bass."
I would agree!
