Default Clinch Midge

Had a chance to fish the Clinch Friday and as the ol' saying goes "there's more than fishing than just catching fish" held true as that day was about making a new acquaintance and I was able to take several stomach pump samples so I'd have subjects to experiment with on a manual macro bellows setup to a digital camera via a conversion adapter.
All the stomach samples showed these smaller midges in grey and olive and assorted scuds and I caught my fish on mostly a #20 grey scud because around Millers its pretty much scud central.
The grey zebra is a #26 hook and all the fish were full of midges this size that day though there was no need to fish 'em this small because the trout weren't being too selective and just like most - keep it simple: why fish smaller if you don't have too - but it doesn't hurt to have some small stuff just in case...
I still need some work on the in the world of macro, diffuse the lighting, maybe use a strobe and stop it down some and so on - guess I'll just have to go fishing some more before i get the photography dialed in...

Default Great photo

I'm going to have to see if my camera can do macro that well.
