Deep Creek
I just got off the phone with the backcountry office. Made reservations for the Deep Creek backcountry at campsite #55 for next week. Can't Wait!

You will love it. The water levels are decent. The temperature is perfect. The fish are biting. Best of luck to you, I will probably be somewhere below you next Saturday.

That is a special place indeed with alot of history, but i agree with david, no fish up there..........

There's been some significant bear activity in that area. I was there two weeks ago and they had the warning signs up at the trailhead. Keep your food up at night.

Pack things well and if you have something hard and sealed that you can put food in, do it. I never considered it before but will probably get a bear-proof food canister before backpacking up there again. Not for the bears but because of the mice...enjoy the trip and the scenic creek...

I have a wonderful hole in my fly vest from those pesky little varmints...The first time I took my tent out of its bag was at 53 a couple years back, the mice ate through my mesh (loft type thing) the first night.....canned biscuits in the creek made for an interesting site coming out of a mouse chewed hole. it was kind of like one of the old play-Doh mashers...lol
