Holston 11/08
Fished the holston by Nance's Ferry on Sat. Caught a handfull of bass, I think they are red eye's, They are fun. I saw a bunch of huge golden carp. I stalked one in the shallows, armed with a couple carp flies I bought at LRO, figured I might as well be armed when I go to that river. Never really pursued carp but watching em tail like redfish back home got me interested in it. Plus they are huge! Any advice on chasing these golden "beauties"! I think the wind was keeping em down a bit, and out of the shallows.

Im planning on making my way over there around thanksgiving. Does anyone know if the trout bite will be on then?

I heard that they should be stocking it in the next week or so as the water tempt will drop enough to sustain em, i spoke to a couple guys that were spin fishing just up from the landing and they had a few stockers...on a stringer. So I guess they have already put a few in there.
