Fishing With Joe
This past Sunday I fished the Caney Fork with LRO's own Joe Mcgroom and my cousin Nathan. Joe had not fished the Caney yet but my cousin had fished it with me a couple of times before. Thankfully the clouds defied the "mostly sunny" forecast and provided a nice overcast day for better fishing. We had our best luck fairly early in the day and all got in on some good action. Best fly was definitely the zebra midge...
Joe is ruined now...probably because of this nice fish...   Despite the fact that it was only his 5th time or so fly fishing, my cousin did very well catching numerous fish including this nice one...  Not to be outfished, I managed a good one as well...  Overall it was a great day of fishing. Everyone got the slam which included some nicely colored (and really fat) brookies. In another year or two we should be seeing some 18 inch brookies in the Caney hopefully...

Dang Guys,
Nice Fish! Or should I say nice Fishes! I fished there a lot in the 70's and 80's, almost every weekend. Never had a day like that. But I must admit, you guys are better at it than I am. That is one fine tailwater. I have floated and fished the whole river below the dam. It just keeps getting better. Great photos of some fine folks and their trout. Byron

Alright now, you are making me regret telling you I can't meet to fish the day after Thanksgiving.....I am going to have to get out that way soon. Maybe next weekend if I can get a pass. Nice fish all the way around. Congrats. Travis

Holy seacows batman!
 Where were you, might I ask? If you were below the dam at the steps, those were the fish that wouldn't give me a flip of the fins  How big did they all go? You need to come bless my new fly rod, so that I might be able to catch fish like that!

Those are some nice browns. I have not yet made a trip to the Caney. If for some reason my hunting season doesn't go well, I may try and make a winter trip over there. Then there is always the spring. Congratulations.

Nice fish! There must really be some big ones in there. I'd like to make a trip over there. How long would it take to get there from Pigeon Forge?

Bugg, it will probably take 2-2 1/2 hours or so from Pigeon Forge, maybe a bit more...

Hey guys.
Who wants to go Friday? I got two spots in the boat, and it would help if you knew how to row a drifter. I wanna go and don't have anyone to with since all the pals are either working or out of town. I'm still have a cold brewing and I'm not making any promises, because if this gets any worse I'm not going to make it worse! Lemme know!
