January One Fish Per Month Challenge

Okay, show us what you caught in January. The number of entries dropped off significantly in December, so let's get out there and catch some fish.

Way to go Charlie! The streak continues! We made a trip to the Elk today and this pretty little rainbow was kind enough to help me continue my streak! Caught on a grey thread midge.

Great idea nvr2L8 getting this done early. I usually forget until right around the end of the month. Anyway, here's mine and while not as pretty as the wild Smokies fish but its a fish...stocker 'bow caught on 1/2/2008 at Byrd Lake on a #14 beadhead Simi Seal Leech...

You guys who live close enough to the mountains to fish it frequently have no idea how lucky you are (OK, you probably have a very good idea, but I had to rub it in just a little).

There's nothing resembling fishing around here until March at the earliest and most likely April.

There's one tailwater about an hour from my house but they open the gates and lower the lake quite a bit from about the first of November through the middle of February. It's such a small body of water it's dangerous to fish when the water is up. The bass and bluegill fishing is pretty much shut down until March.

Keep posting the pictures folks. The rest of us can live vicariously through your exploits.
