Strange for a trout to ride the top of the water like that. All the fish I've released shoot down to the bottom, or turn upside down because they're tired. Those aren't fun, gotta get 'em back toward the boat and revive them. But nice fish

Looks like fly or lure might still be in his mouth. Can't really tell for sure though.

Yes it is a woolie booger black weighted he was on his way to the net,
I released him we caught about 18 that day. This morning we caught 8 in 3 hours using egg patterns with strike indicators working it slow.

I'm guessing that no one wants to post a picture after that one from David.
So I will go ahead and take the plunge, maybe bring the bar down a little. I have been holding out hoping to get to go fishing again but I'm not sure it's going to happen. Made it out to the SoHo on February 2nd to fish some of the water that had just re-opened the day before, arrived as the water was going down from the generation there were already several guys in the water so I found a spot and was looking forward to casting to fish that hadn't felt the sting of a hook during the last 3 months. Well, the fish weren't having any of it, turned out to be a tougher day than I expected. Only managed to land 4 in a little less than 2 hours. After throwing all my usual offerings I decided to try a #20 parachute adams and caught 3 about like this guy...  So, I'm in for the month. Now I just need to see if we can improve on that. Mike

Mike, that's a nice fish for February, plus you have really big hands, right?
 David, that's an unbelievable picture on so many levels. Even the darn knot looks impressive....the colors and composition are very well done...maybe you're going into the wrong line of work...

Rachel,
There were some anxious moments. I caught a trout within 5 minutes of hitting the river. That bugger shook off, fell to the rock where I was standing and flopped on in to the water. It was another hour and a half before I caught one that I could take a picture of and then I didn't get another bite all day. Hate to bring this up now, but there are another 10 months on the spreadsheet.  Start gearing up for March!
