Headed to New Orleans this weekend to chase some redfish on Monday. Been watching the weather and looks like we will get a break. Wish me luck. I hope i have some good pictures to post.

Wish you the best man. Post lots of photos and give us a report on the fishing. I absolutely love to red fish. It is probably my number 1 fishing that I love. Good luck.

Good luck and have a great time. I can only dream about catching a red on a fly. Post lots of action pics if possible.

I am a little nervous about the weather. Talked to the guide this morning and if the wind predictions hold up we should be good to go. I wish I could spend a few more days down to improve my odds of a good weather day. Oh well, should be a fun trip regardless.

Weather was terrible. High winds, cold and the water was muddy. I think we cast to three fish in 5 hours. We finally called it when we kept spooking fish we couldn't see. It was so bad the guide didn't charge us. We paid him some gas money, but he wouldn't take any more money. He was a real nice guy, so I plan to try another trip with him in May.

May will be better....March is traditionally the worst month for inshore saltwater fishing down here - the weather is just too unsettled, and as you mentioned, the wind just kills everything. 5ft is deep water in the marshes, and the bottom is all alluvial silt - a little wind reduces the water to the clarity of cafe au lait.
Usually things start getting consistent in late April, and by May, the specs start their summer-long cycle of spawning and eating. |

Sorry to hear it didn't go as planned, but a bad day fishing is still better than a good day in the office.
