I am heading down to Mobile at the end of April for a week of training. Can anyone recommend any areas for some flats fishing in the bay or nearby? I know that gulf shores is 30+- miles south but wasn't sure if there wasn't something a little closer where I could get to quickly after classes during the week. I was hoping that some trout or drums might be in the area. Any help is appreciated.

You may want to Try something on Dauphin Island. Also the Biloxi marsh is a good bet. I would call McCoy's Outdoors in Mobile. They are right off of I-65 on the West side of the Spring Hill Ave Exit. They have some fly guides based out of their shop.
