Irony
I think Bill was referring to the ironic coincidence of your new TU plate and your Jeep. Right now there is a temporary ban in place against 4x4 vehicles using the off-road trails around Tellico. The ban was lobbied for and pushed quite hard by the folks at TU (due to the negative impact those trails have on the fishery - according to the report/temporary ban).
Unfortunately, its a delicate act trying to find what's best for all (or for the most, since its impossible to please everyone, all the time).

Oh, and I knew that. I am a lost cause when it comes to irony.
And although I don't go to Tellico, I'm not sure how I feel about the closure. Delicate balances aren't my strong point.

what do I have to do to get mine?
Still haven't gotten my plate. Are they coming in the mail or do you have to go to the clerk's office and pick them up?

If you've ordered one and pre-paid, you should have already gotten a letter from the county clerk's office informing you that your plate is available for pick up. If you haven't gotten a letter yet, take your current registration and tag to the county clerks office and present them at the desk. Ask them to see if they can find your plate laying around collecting dust.
