Default Holston browns

We fished the Holston just below the dam yesterday afternoon. Caught 5 bows in the 10 to 12 inch range and 1 brownie about 12 inches. This was the 1st brown we've got in the Holston. I knew they were in there but never caught one yet. I was using a elk hair caddis dun #16.

That suprises me to hear that. I have only caught bows in the Holston.
How is fishing up by the dam. I generally fish lower down near Blaine.

It's pretty good right now. They just stocked it a couple weeks ago, I think. They stocked some browns this time too. We fished awhile right under the bridge this afternoon and caught 7 within an hour. 6 bows and 1 more brown. All caught on #16 dun elkhair caddis.

Here is the brown we got today. The 1 from Sunday is in the Photography forum May one fish a month thread.

Default Holston browns

I floated the Holston last Monday with flat-fly n down from the dam and caught 5 smaller browns and about 10 rainbows including 1 bow about 17" all were caught on. Size 18 fbpt.
