Is Sams Creek open?

The cable was up a couple months ago but I don't recall seeing a sign.

I couldn't say. We fished both streams, but by-passed the confluence of Sams and Thunderhead. We certainly didn't see any closed signs and talked to one group of 3 and one single on our hike in and a husband and wife on the way down. So there were plenty of folks fishing two Wednesdays before Memorial Day weekend.
