Default The Giant Golden Stonefly

This week while guiding I saw numbers of Giant Golden Stonefly nymph cases on the rocks along the East Prong of Little River. This is one of the largest insects that we see on the stream in the Park and it is one of the favorite flies to imitate from behind the vise. It is like the Isonychia Mayfly in that it migrates from the middle of the stream to rocks along the side and crawls out at night time to hatch into adults. It can catch the eye of the largest trout in the river and the hatch continues until frost. They are common to almost all the streams that you might fish and they are found in sizes #3-#12. Keep a few of them on hand.

Good to know you have been fishing. I check your site almost everyday for a new report. Nothing since 7/9, so I was beginning to think you had fallen in and drown. Just checked your site, and it's clear you have been busy. Like the photos. Keep them coming.

I too love your website and check it often. I also appreciate your witness for Christ through your website. If I can ever free up some $$ I would love to give you a call and have you guide me on one of the tailwaters, a place I've dreamed of fishing but never have.
