Default rubber legged stimulator

having been tying some stimulators for fishing in the park next week and want to tie some of the rubber legged variety. was wondering when the best time to tie them in is. do you guys tie them in before you wrap the front hackle or after. seems it would make sense to tie them in first but would make wraping the hackle difficult. any suggestions?

Default Tying in legs

Troutbum, good evening,
Here is a thought about tying in legs and there are a number of ways that you can do it. This one is easy and you may try others or get some suggestions that you find work better for you. Finish the fly, back the thread up about 1/4 of the way back on the body. Tie in your first leg with a couple of wraps and then tie in the other. Make these wraps be between the wraps of hackle. Finish with about 2-3 more wraps, then adjust the legs with your fingers to fit right and move forward and tie off. You may want to trim the legs to size. Good luck and show us a picture.
