Default Caney Fork Report

Anyone on the Caney this weekend? I am heading up next week for my first time there. Any latest info would be appreciated.

Jim,
Hope that you have a drift boat.
They have been running one generator (5600 cu ft/sec all week.
Wading is impossible.
Check the schedule before making your final plans.

If the Corps intends to meet it's October water level plan of around 625 feet for the lake level, then they have over 5 more feet of water to go. That's a lot of generation. Fishing the Caney anytime soon looks unlikely.

Hope you can float and fish during generation, cause they won't be stopping for a while.

Shut up! *sticks out tongue*

I'm having some serious fishing related stress right now.

I would, if they could track for a distance longer than 5 feet. I need to come up with something to make them track for longer.

Why don't they generate from 8pm to 8am instead of the other way around?

I've wondered the same thing myself. Anyway, it looks like they are letting around 1800 cfs through the sluice. Looks like we have a whole lot of rain coming today, so they will have to run a lot to get the lake down to October levels.
