Default How are the leaves looking ?

My parents in their 58 years of marriage have taken many a trip to the Smokies, from time to time my mother says she would like to see them one more time, my dad has advanced Alzheimer's. It's taking a toll on my mother, I'm going to take them for a road trip on Tuesday, are there enough leaves left to make the trip? Or do I need to get off of I-75N at Cleveland and take them over into the Tellico area ?

Default Leaves in the Park

Sounds like a great trip. The leaves on the Tennessee side of the park are still a plenty and just starting to show a little color. Went to the North Carolina side around Catalooche Monday and they were really starting to change. I would say head on up and enjoy your time with your parents, should be nice.

Elk riverrat, check the webcams on the GSMNP site for an idea as to how they're looking. [1 each, east and west]. Have a good trip regardless. Ghost

Leaves are changing late this year...just now reaching peak colors on the NC side and the Tennessee side is a little behind as of Friday...

My wife twisted my arm hard enough to drive the Cades Cove loop on 10/18. It took about 1.5 to get around. It will probably be a few more days before the leaves at peak in the Cades Cove area.
