This is the cheesiest magazine that I have ever read in my life. Quote, "Sometimes a brother gets the itch to go to the salt. Throw a ten weight in your pack, stick out a thumb, and head south....Get out your sharpe, make a sign, and go fish." Who talks like this? This guy is trying way too hard! And does he have something against using spell check?

Also, there is a blatant advertisement on page 18 and 19. I'm guessing that there isn't more than this one advertisement because no one would want their product associated with this trash, hence ''no advertisements'', and apparently "no limit"... to ridiculousness!

To top it all off, the layout is a rip-off of another online magazine called ''This is Fly". I hate a thief and I guess that is why I am posting this rant besides the fact that the last thing that I want to read about is a guy ''Thumping Tuna".

By the way, I enjoyed your blog Dwayne.

Everybody has their own opinion about these sort of things. I know of Aaron and some of his contributors in that issue. I have actually been emailing with Aaron over the past year in an effort to develop my photography skills. The text is not something I really loved reading, but those guys are a different breed of flyfishermen. They have a unique way about them in how they talk and fish. However, one thing I don't think anybody can argue about is the photography in the magazine. Those guys are on the cutting edge of fish and fishing photography, and their work both in photography and writing is showing up much more frequently in some very popular publications.

These guys have had photography in Flyfisherman, American Angler, Trout (TU Mag), Orvis, The Catch Online Magazine, etc. As far as articles goes, they have had articles in SW Flyfishing and This Is Fly. These are the ones I am aware of.

Don't know the guys personally, but as Travis said, their photography is top notch and they are good fisherman as well... I honestly look at these types of "magazines" mostly for the pictures anyway so it works for me...

McFly, thanks. It's not much, but it gives me something to do on occasion. I enjoy Chem and Plateua's blogs and TennSwede's is great for book and movie reviews, as well as fly fishing. As far as the rest, I tend to like it when people strike out and try to better themselves. I don't know if they are trying to rip off "This is Fly" or if there are just inherent similarities in online magazines. I know what you mean about the language, which is more about attitude really. I think there are several sports cultures that have their own language. Look at BMX, snowboarding, surfing etc. Some of those kids can lose me when they start talking. From my observation, fishermen in the West have their own culture. I don't know enough about fly fishing culture to make the call as to if it's right or wrong. I do admire their efforts though. But, we all have our own views and their is nothing wrong with that either.
