Default Friends of the smokies or gsmnp association?

Not being a local, but wanting to help out in some small way, I was wandering if anyone could give me a little information about which group is the best. What group does the best for the park?, Is one group more professional than the other? Does anyone on this forum belong to any of these two groups, and if so, could you clue me in on the ins and outs of these two organizations? Any and all info will be greatly appreciated! thanks, flyguys.

both benefit the park....gsma has been helping the park, by act of congress, since 1953. Friends is basically a fund raising group and began in 1993. i work for gsma and highly recommend them as a great group dedicated to the park and it's mission. joining either will assist the park, however, gsma membership will provide additional benefits to the member and the park. go to smokiesinformation.org and view gsma website.
