Default West Virginia Brookies

I've fished a few streams in WV for several years, but don't know of any backcountry brook trout streams. Does anyone have any suggestions? I love to fish the Elk and Cranberry, so I'd love to find something in that general area.

Grab a WV Gazetteer or a map of the Mon National Forest. Nearly every blue line in the Mon has brookies! I've fished over 70 different brook trout streams in WV in the last three years.

If you like, send me an email and I'll give you more info.

You can't beat the Cranberry, why go anywhere else?

I agree, the Cranberry is a great place. I am just looking for small smaller streams that aren't stocked with rainbows, browns, or goldens. I love catching native brookies, and would love you do that in WV.

The Cranberry or the Elk (lower) would not be in my top 20 streams of WV. Both are stocked, "bring your own rock" and neither is my style of fishing.

bias,
Drop me an email at chris.1.shockey@gmail.com and I'll put you on some of my favorites brookie streams in that area.
