Ft Campbell KY

Has anyone fished the stocked streams in this area? How much of a hassle is it to get the permit?

Haven't fished there but not too far up the road is Casey Creek near Cadiz, Trigg County.

Never fished there, but it ain't far from my home of Todd County, although I have been gone for 27 years.

bredmon has fished Trammel Creek southeast of Bowling Green on a regular basis. I assume that he had good luck there, though I haven't fished Trammel myself. You might do a search on this forum to read his comments. Look under Fly Fishing in Other States around Dec. 2009.

Streamhound, don't feel bad. I made the same inquiry last year and could not find anyone with experience on the Ft. Campbell streams. Kentucky rates it as a good stream with significant carryover. Both TN and Ky licenses are accepted. Kinda curious myself about how big a hassle the base permit is. If you find out anything please post it. Regards, Silvercreek

It's usually not a big hassle to fish on Army reservations. Alot of guys here locally fish Otter Creek inside of Ft. Knox. Basically, you go up to the base gate, and tell the guards you want to go to the Recreation Office to get a fishing permit. They may have you sign in, and get your license plate number. And sign out when you leave. The permit is then good for one year.

Otter creek was my other question. Trammel is my home creek but I thought I might venture out and was wondering about both of these on military bases
