Question Let's say someone was going to be in Cherokee...

...and let's say they were charged with taking a father and his two young sons (who had NEVER fished before in their entire lives) on their very first fishing adventure. Not necessarily fly-fishing; just fishing.

Also, let's pretend the little ones have the attention span of a gnat.

If you were this completely theoretical person, where in Cherokee would you take them?

Green Weenie--One option would be the trout ponds which are a part of the Tribal Enterprise waters (up in Big Cove). Another one, guaranteed to produce some fish (and put a dent in your billfold) would the the trout pond on the upper end of Cooper Creek (Cooper Creek is halfway between Cherokee and Bryson City along old Hwy. 19. There are lots of trout pond signs along the way, and one of the owners, John Hunnicutt, is a descendant of old Sam Hunnicutt, author of "Twenty Years Hunting & Fishing in the Smokies" and a true mountain character is ever there was one.
