Greenie - you guys caught two of the three fish up there.
![]() Any of you guys every see the sections of PVC that are stashed in a "cave" on the left? There must be 10 8'+ pieces of 2" or 2.5". Very strange.

Also, now that you mention it, I noticed a large rock there that had 2 holes drilled into it with pipes sticking out a couple of inches. My buddy and I wondered the purpose of that. |

They have a water quality station setup just below the mouth of Ramsey Prong. I'm not sure what they have going on closer to the trailhead.

Pineman is right on point. While I was in college...years ago....you could still access the forks of the river up there by car...if you look really hard today you can still see where there was a turn around where the Cascades trail takes off to the left. The year they closed the road my buddy was out of shape when we decided to hike up to the forks. He gave out of gas about half way up and since we could hear the river decided to bushwack to the water. Water was too high to really fish down there and the climb out was almost vertical....Pineman is all knowing.

i ventured up the gorge yesterday. Caught a nice bow the first cast. Then things settled until a storm came downstream. Then it was on. Spec-Fest. I didn't expect to do so well in the middle of the day, but it was great. Run and gun. Hit a hole for 3 or 5 casts and then move on. Beautiful day, beautiful fish.
I'm taking the wife up there tomorrow... |

Went back this evening. Water of course was super-high after an impressive early morning storm. But near suppertime, it had dropped several inches. I hate wooly-bugger'n but that's what these conditions called for. Got a nice Spec in some swirly chocolate water with a little weight on the line.
