Default Mr. Casada: A Question for You

I have a copy of your book, and it has been an invaluable asset to me as a new fly-fisherman in the park. I noticed in the section on WPLP you mentioned that you teach a nature writing class at Sugarlands V.C. I am a college student and aspiring writer that loves the outdoors. Could you give me some details on this class?

Greenie--I haven't taught that particular class in a couple of years but do plan to offer it next spring or summer. It's a one-day class with most of the day being spent in the training room at Sugarlands Visitor Center and then winding up with a short hike where we discuss story opportunities (they are all around you in the Smokies). Check the course list for the Smoky Mountain Field School in late winter and you will be able to learn about it and many more fine courses. The School, if you are unfamiliar with it, is an adult non-credit program which touches an many aspects of the Park and which utilizes experts in particular fields (edible plants, hiking, wildflowers, photography, etc.) as instructors. The prices are very reasonable. If you need additional details, don't hesitate to e-mail me (jimcasada@comporium.net) with specific questions.

Mr. Casada,

Thank you very much. I had no idea this sort of thing was offered by the park. I will certainly be taking advantage of some of these courses. Thanks again.
