ifish4wildtrout the tunnel folks are talking about is the tunnel on newfound gap road about a mile or so past the chimneys picnic area going toward NC from gburg. Just after you get through the tunnel you will be at the Chimneys trail head parking lot. When I fished the gorge a couple months ago I parked at the Chimneys trailhead and then walked down the road (down hill) and thru the tunnel on the ledge on the left side then walked about .5 mile more down the road to the nature exhibit and found the trail down to the gorge there. Then I fished back up to the chimneys trail head. Took me about 3 hours. The ledge is a bit scary and awkward in my opinion and I imagine more so the taller you are but I would do it again.
