Starting the new year right!
I was finally able to get out this year on Sunday the 16th. My friend Jack took me out on his boat to do some scouting and little fishing too. I was able to catch a few on what was really a good day. The first half of the trip was purely scouting, and we were able to locate several schools of fish. During the second half we concentrated more on fishing.

Hehe that looks like quite the snow bank on the shore LOL, either that or you were fishing the Suez Canal.

It looks and sounds like you had a great outing. I looked at the pictures before I read the text and immediately thought that you must be one tough son of a gun to be dressed so lightly in such a cold environment!

Shawn,
I was fishing with a friend at a spot of his so out of consideration I modified the picture. You are going to have to make a trip this way to fish for reds. I don't have a boat, but would be more than happy to take you wading during the summer through about November. John

I appreciate the offer and will keep you in mind. This past year I did not get up to the mountains to do much trout fishing at all. It was a challenging year. John
