Default Ziplock Caddis Imitation

Hook: # 12 Scud Hook
Thread: Black or Olive 6/0
Weight: Tungsten Bead and 16 wraps of .015 or .020 lead underneath.
Body: Zip-lock bag colored with permanent marker.
Neck: Peacock Herl

The body is made from a piece of the clear part of a ziplock bag that is about 1/2" wide and 5" long. Use hackle pliers or forceps and twist it untill it makes a thin chord. I got this idea from some fly fishing magazine where they were using saran wrap for the body of some sort of emerger nymph. I have never fished this fly but plan on it. I will probably keep it in #12 for DH streams and then in #14-16 for wild/technical trout streams. The marker is a dark green sharpie, but i will try it in lighter colors. Let me know what you guys think and like/dont like about it.

Try yellow, cream, and olive colors for the park. I tied one similar to that but used twisted polypropylene yarn in cream and yellow. Now I just use dubbing, I can tie 3 from dubbing for everyone 1 I did with the twisted polypro. I lose a lot of flies

Glad you guys like it. I haven't fished it yet, but plan to on the Chattahoochee DH this weekend. JayB, I usually use dubbing as well. I just thought "why not" and experimented with the stuff. I will try some of those colors you mentioned as well.

I thought it looked pretty good on the vise and it really looks good in the bow.
