Another great day on the water
I was able to get out again Saturday the 29th. It was sunny, warm, and the wind was down. The fish were everywhere, however flipper was really tearing them up and had them really spooked. The water was extremely clear and the fish extremely spooked. My friend Jack and I managed to catch one each, but had a great day.
The water was so clear and calm we could see the fish pushing, and the dolphin blasting them from hundreds of yards away. It was a beautiful day and we had quite a few fish not pay any attention to the fly. I switched to one of my mud minnow patterns in purple, and Jack tied one of my gold crabs, and we both ended up with a fish.

Glad you guys had a nice day on the water and caught a few to boot. Always enjoy your post on here John, keep them coming.

Very nice and I am envious! *one question: do you wrap your trolling motor with a net to thwart line snags while fishing or is there another reason behind it?

MadisonBoats- I'm going to guess that is a stripping basket and not a wrap for his motor.

Sorry for the delay Shawn. That is a net on Jack's trolling motor, and the intention is to reduce snags on the flyline catching the motor. It does help, and I have lost a nice red or two getting a loop of line wrapped around something.

Nice fish John, can't wait to get back home and chase some reds this summer. By the way i am coordinating a Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Trip to Charleston in late October,probably taking around ten disabled Vet's down there to fish and would love to have you come up or get involved come time, hope you are doing well....looks like you are!
