Anyone fish the Destin surf lately or ever this time of year? We are headed down in two weeks. We usually go down later and the surf fishing is fabulous when the seas are calm. I can catch all that I want wading into surf casting a clouser on a 6wt or 8wt depending on the wind July - September. Didn't know about early June though.

Any information would be appreciated.

The ladyfish are all through the surf. Throw top water poppers, clousers, and pretty much any baitfish pattern at them...they are NOT picky. Just keep it moving fast. They run and jump a lot and are a blast to catch.

Ever catch a Pompano on the fly? I am sure their run is coming to an end but sure would be fun to catch.

Although ladyfish are a blast. It's always fun not knowing what's on the other end of the line at first.

Thanks!
