Full moon of May means bluegill here where I fish. Got out for about an hour this evening and caught a few on a Chicago Fly. Couldn't get bit on a foam spider or a Sneaky Pete, but they ate the black Chicago.

flyred, I was using an 8'6 five weight Hobbs Creek. It is the smallest rod I have at this time, but I expect that to change very soon!

Nice 'gills! I'm hoping to go after a few this weekend. That "chicago fly" - I'm not familiar with that one - is it on a jig-head or is that just a bead-head? Sometimes they just won't come to the surface for 'em, unfortunately!
pretty, pretty fish...

Streamhound, I was on a private farm pond in Shepherdsville.
Owl, the Chicago fly is a beadhead and is tied simialr to a Wooly Bugger, but without hackle wraps. First time I have used one and was pretty impressed. |
