Default Red minnows

Was fishing the lower section of middle prong Sunday and saw a school of about 50 bright reddish orange minnows about 1.5 inches long.

Anyone have an idea what these might have been? Fished a lot of water in the park and have never seen anything like these.

Saffron Shiners. They spawn over chub nests. The little random piles of marble or slightly larger rocks you find scattered in the slower tail outs of long pools. Sometimes they will just do it over a long gravel run, but i normally see them over the chub nests.

Thanks. That's exactly where they were hanging out. Did an image search on google and that's what they looked like.
