Do you guys find that there is a difference between Gortex and micro porous materials in terms of durability and lifespan?

By micro porous materials, do you mean a company's proprietary WPB (water proof breathable) fabrics? If so, then yes, I think Goretex is more durable. Below is a picture I took for warranty purposes a couple of years ago of my Marmot precip jacket. My gore tex jackets have never done anything like this. The warranty claim was, by the way, promptly denied due to "normal wear and tear".
