Hello to all,
I am newly registered but a longtime lurker! I have been flyfishing for years but have very limited experience in fishing the Smoky Mountains. I hope to learn more and get down there more often. Thanks to all who post for the info I have managed to soak up so far! Harry Leidy |

Welcome to the board Harry. I see that you are from Boone County.

Hi,
Yes I live in Northern, KY about 12 miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio. Nice area to live, but not much trout fishing around here! I have to make due with bass, bluegills and smallmouth!! LOL Harry |

It's always great to welcome a fellow Kentuckian. I am from Todd County but now live in NC.

Hi "WILDTROUT",
Where in NC do you live now? My wife and I have visited NC a few times and the fly fishing club I belong to has had many trips to tea area around Wanyesville. I love the area of Eastern Tennessee and Western NC a lot. If I didn't have two sons living in Northern Colorado, I would be lobbying to relocate to East Tenn/West NC for sure! |

Where do you live in Boone county? I transferred from WV about 1-1/2 years ago and now live in Burlington. I know what you mean about NO trout around here but I do live within a five minute walk from Sperti Park and Gunpowder Creek (smallies, spots, and sunfish).
I spend more time chasin brookies in WV than I do the Smokies, but I do try to manage a couple of trips a year to GSMNP. Chris

Hi WVBrookie,
I live in Fox Run, on the other side of Oakbrook! I have fished Gunpowder at Sperti park myself, It has been over a year since I have been "down" to the creek there, though. How is the smallie fishing now? Since we are nearly neighbors, we'll have to go fish together sometime! Harry |

Hi from Springboro, Ohio,
I commute to Cincinnati daily, just a jump over the river from you. As to chasing trout, I'm not sure what you are willing to drive, but the Mad River near Urbana, OH has some decent trout fishing. It takes me 2 hours from University Hospital to get there, (but only an hour back home). As the days get longer, if you want to give that a shot some afternoon/evening let me know. I like to fish from 6 until dark when traffic behaves. I'm not a good angler, but can at least show you the water.. ![]() -Matt- |

Welcome, Harry!
Shoot me a message at fredturner@saintclairmapping.com and I will fix you up with a map of your choosing. Just a couple of strings attached: 1) You must leave me some fish & 2) Ask Coach Cal to go easy on the Vols for the next few years. ![]() JF
