Heading up this weekend to BDC and heard the campground was closed @ Backbone Rock. Can some one confirm or have a different CG near there

Lynn,

Jacobs Creek is pretty close to Beaverdam on South Holston Lake. I haven't stayed there, I have stayed at Little Oak which is on the south side of the lake.

My son - the Subordinate Clause - and I were up there toward the end of July. We stayed at the Jacobs Creek campground since it was fairly convenient for both the South Holston as well as Beaver Dam and Laurel Creek. At that time the Backbone Rock campground was closed and looked like it would be for a while yet. I think they are installing new water lines or replacing the electrical lines or some such. They had things pretty well dug up all around the place, anyway. Of course, once they get it all done it should be real nice.

Oh, as for the fishing, we caught a few, but none of them were any bigger than the length of my forearm, so it might not be worth the bother.

Granny I didn't get to make it because my old dog got really bad and I had to stay with him. I ended up having to put him down the monday after. I will be going soon though. I have a vacation @ the end of Oct. so maybe then. I will be staying for sure @ Jacobs Creek. I called and understand that it's pretty nice and in a good location. Sorry I didn't have a better report, but Like I said I was just going to pick up dead fish anyway.

Sorry to hear that Lynn.
My wife bought me a retriever for my birthday a year before we got married. His hips aren't what they used to be, and I'm not looking forward to the day I have to make that decision.
