when i lived in tn... (just last year).. we used them all the time on the caney and the clinch...we tied them a little bit different than traditional soft hackles... my go to fly on any water is a pattern thats half a streamer and half a soft hackle... dead drift and swing like a reg soft hackle or strip it back like a streamer ... size 16 and 18..... olive thread rainbow crystal flash and and a touch of red in the tail a tiny bit of dubbing and olive soft hackle to i also use an finish the head...i have caught trout blugill crappie bass and even a catfish on this pattern ...some i beadhead ...... i will try to post a pic of it

Dan,
I was surprised at how well you wet fly fished on the Clinch that day we drifted. It hooked it very well in some of the deeper holes.
