Shawn; I sure do wish I knew the spot where you set your underwater camera and took the video with like a zillion chunky rainbows swimming around!

I got skunked yesterday at Nance's but the guy across river caught about ten.... funny thing is we were both fishing a black zebra midge size 20.... one of those days.

TVA's predicted outflow for the weekend is around 2550cfs, so that'll work!

Richard, I had that video in a feeding lie. That is key bro to getting in to a trout or in to trout!

FF-I heard it was to prepare the course for the OR Regatta and the annual spring cleanup day each year. Is that similar to your info...?

*About this weekend. I expect the fishing to slow until the fish get accustomed to the water level.

Also; be careful walking about. There is a high amount of moss, plant growth, and sediment on the bottom. It will take a few cycles for this to reduce. So; take your steps one at a time.

REPORT: Thursday, March 22, 2012
I fished Thursday Morning for about 2 hours. It was very slow in my opinion. I think the fish were lethargic due to the water level change. The sun never hit the water that I was fishing. So; the bug activity was limited to a few midges. Plus, there was a lot of condensed plant growth and material floating in the lower pool levels. This polluted the seams and made presenting with uniqueness a challenge. I did get three-small fish late when the water came up on a streamer.
HATCH:
  • Adult midges in Clumps=Griffiths Gnat* (I think this would be a good pattern for this weekend if you are below the dam throwing to a rise.)
  • A couple of adult sulphurs=I think they were lost...
  • A few sulphur nymphs
  • Of-course there were blackfly larva.

Does everyone else feel ten months pregnant waiting for good hatches and safe wadable conditions?

It's raining again.

I've been throwing Griffith's on the Holston twice in the last week despite all the midges on top and didn't get a single rise on them.

Leg still very sore from digger last Saturday and nicely bruized; and I managed it while using my wading staff!

Hope I'm not getting too broken down for this anymore... what I wouldn't do to be throwing Crazy Charlies on a nice hard bottom sand flat today.
