FYI: gravel section of tremont road to close

The gravel section of Tremont Road beyond the Great Smoky Mountains Institute will be closed May 15-16 as crews clean ditches and culverts and grade the road while using heavy equipment and dump trucks.
Workers also will be adding gravel to the road and removing standing dead trees along the shoulders.
During the work period, there will continue to be access to the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont and the West Prong and Lumber Ridge Trailheads. The Middle Prong Trailhead will be inaccessible.

Oh man, I can't scare people anymore...I had that road memorized and people would get really nervous riding with me as I swerved my way along to avoid the potholes. Glad it will be easier on my car though...
