There is fun to be had on holiday weekends. Sitting at site 24 and viewing 4 unprepared backpackers hauling up a 12 man tent, 2 gallons of water each, full-length axes, cast iron cookware, in wet cotton clothes in September gave me quite a chuckle for instance.
Sharing some cigars, whiskey, and advise with the youngins hopefully made up for the amusement I had at their peril. God Bless UT; go Vols |

Anyone heard of Henry inkler's (the Fonz) book- I Never Met an Idiot on The Water. I would like to fish where he does! I used to do a lot of bass fishing but sold my boat about 6 years ago because of so many people on the lakes and rivers. |

Knothead, after reading how competetive Winkler is when he fishes,it seems he would only need to look into a mirror the next time he is on a stream to see an idiot.
Turk if you do go to 24 on the 4th of July pay attention to the woods at dusk and you might see a lightning bug display that will dwarf the ones at Elkmont.Honest Injun. |

I have witnessed the fire fly display at CS24 and it does put the Elkmont bugs to shame....the bgs come out later at night....they were so numerous and bright you could see the flashesthru the tent,,,simply amazing,

I will also give the nod to Rog1......an extra mile or two will greatly enhance the experience.......take sufficient breaks on the walk in........and you will be rewarded with greater fishing.......also remember when hiking with your spouse.....when you are climbing that hill........she is working just as hard as you are..........make the most of the trip........
