Default Watauga Trip

We just got back from the Watauga for a day fishing and had a great day. Before the water came on and we started throwing streamers we were throwing beetles as well as the fly pictured below. I know Byron tied it, but I'm not sure of the name. Maybe Byron or someone can chime in. It worked great though.

Also, we were chucking some articulated flies later in the day and hooked up with a couple of pigs!

Sweet! Looks like something I would throw. I am a chump for the odd-ball flies...

Hey Kris,

You guys had a great day. I call that fly a Knucklehead. I designed it for smallmouth bass and it works. Customers are reporting good catches of largemouth bass on them too. They float like corks and you can see them well because of the Krystal Flash wing. It seems they work for trout as well. We sell the ones I tie in the shop. I better start tying more now. They are easy to tie.

Thanks for posting this. Also, it was good talking to you today.

Byron
