Norris Dam Sluicing ???
So the TVA website says that Norris dam will be sluicing till further notice, does this mean it will be pushing about 16000 cfs or is it going to be more like the soho in early December?

It means 16000 cfs will be rolling down the river. Dangerous for sure.

Yeah, this is probably one of the most dangerous times to be out on the river. Believe it or not; I have seen several boats out all week. Last year there were 2-3 accidents during one of these flows.
The water is up past the handicap parking spots at Miller's Island and spilling over the bottom edge of the small fishing concrete pier at the weir. Please do not try and get out in this type or flow. There is no margin of error for mechanical failures, etc.

Unfortunately that is what I figured. I'm not one to mess with the power of water so it looks like I will be tying some flies to satisfy my fishing itch.
Madisonboats, you have any pictures of how high the water is at miller's island that you can post, I would be interested in seeing them.

Wow, thanks for the pics Shawn, I wonder if that little cabin on the small side of Millers is okay, it seems really close to the water!

Here is downstream at 6 PM at the Church on Jan 23,2012 at 15,000 CFM plus. Look at the base of the tree on the right hand side to see my good friend from summer still working the bank. Those of you familiar with that area know that bank drops off six feet or more below that tree line. Man his feet gotta be cold!
