cutbacks
When I hear a northern politician,gab on WNBC about how the National Park Service,and the Parks are too expensive to maintain,and how there should be cutbacks in Park Services and Ranger salaries...then with the next breath, talk about giving extra food stamps to the food stampers for dog food...it just burns me up..truth is,the Parks are used and appreciated by us,the semi-educated,educated,job holding,tax paying USA'ians..the National Parks are ours,I get kind of hot when politicians want to include the Parks in welfare benefit packages.It's all about votes,I was dum enough to believe the National Parks were special enough to be above the low-life politicians who inhabit and rule our lives....

Has anyone other than I heard that Great Smoky Mountains Association is being forbidden from buying anything... even things (books, etc.) to SELL?!?!
 I am going to ask others in GSMA if this is true. If it is and if the edict came from the NPS, it would be much like the home office of a company with a viable market telling their manufacturing site management to stop buying raw materials because of budget cuts. It would be like corporate saying, “we have enough to worry about with the budget thing, we don't want to have to deal with a pesky revenue stream." Last edited by JoeFred; 03-13-2013 at 12:32 AM..

This is the PEOPLE'S PARK... do what you want when you want.
Closures be ****ed; chances are nobody will areest you and if they try... resist. Obama spends more a week in jet fuel visiting admirers around OUR country than it takes to maintain these camping sites for a year. Don't complain if you voted for him.

Drifting with the Boys!!
Arrived early and I can't remember a day that the Hiwassee fished so well. After a couple of tough months in tough conditions, I was excited to get 2 of my 3 boys away from the XBox and out on the water.
Conditions were excellent at the start of the day and hatches were everywhere around us until the wind picked up to around 20 mph. I with fly rod and the boys, I made sure were rigged up with spinning rods and for them the "Ole Mepps Minnow" and Rapala proved to be valuable tools today.     Walter Babbs' Tellico Nymph did well today.  Tyler anchored and hooking up.  End to a great day with my sons!!!  I'm glad my Dad took the time to take me fishing!! Breck
