Roaring fork is a great little stream. My wife and I both caught our first cutthroats there 2 years ago. Of course we thought that they were greenbacks at the time, but apparently not. The other place we fished was Fern Lake. The fishing there was tougher, but the cuts were bigger. It's also worth the hike just for the scenery.

I'm looking forward to hiking into a lot of remote places up there this summer and fall. Fern Lake is on the list as well as some lakes further up the Big T drainage. Good to know Fern Lake is worth the hike!

You will have a great time out here I am sure. There are so many amazing options for places to fish. That time of year can be a bit crowded so plan on some hiking to get into the best fishing...
