Default Awesome story

I figured based on the story, the fly tying board was the most appropriate place for this:

I like how a 19" rainbow is 'small' definitely a different story in the smokies!

Anyone ever fish a rodent pattern?

I saw a photo somewhere on the net, with the fish and the shrews. Amazing. If I can find it again I'll post a link.

I saw that article this morning. If you go on down to the comments section there were several folks from all over the country that corrected them on a "small 19" bow". They were all saying how that's a nice Rainbow pretty much anywhere.

Big trout are carnivorous, and they love mice.

Big browns especially. It doesn't need to be a fancy realistic fly either with ears and all that. A Morrish mouse works fine. Not hard to tie, and not too bad to cast. Although I would advise using a 6 or 7 weight. Add a couple to your big fly box and some stout tippet. A fly this large the trout are usually less leader shy. They are looking at the mouse. Plus I bet you already have most of the stuff laying around.
