Default Elkmont on Back to Back Weekends

I got to camp and fish out of Elkmont campground the weekends of 8/23 and 8/30, the second time with Brook Fan.

Unlaxing after setting up camp in a light drizzle.

Brook Fan in good form on Little River. The only thing we caught at this location was some great light courtesy of the Creator. The pic has been a real hit on the Great Smoky Mountains Association Facebook page. (Over 2,500 Likes and counting.)

I landed this nice little 'bow on my first ever use of dropper rig. A never sink caddis with a green weenie nymph.

This pic records the approximate location I fished as indicated by the pointer in this field test of one of the offline custom maps I have been playing around with.

I found this heavy gauge wire wrapped around a creekside wall capstone behind an abandoned cabin. I have I idea how it might have been used back in the day.

It was a good time. I'm not sure what was more fun the camping, fishing, or walking and looking on the unmaintained trails. I'm keeping your photo where I can see it alot. Need to be reminded not to what 4 years before fishing in the GSMNP again.

Amazing. These photos remind me why I'm driving 10 hours to fish these streams this Fall.

Nice stuff JoeFred

If those pictures didn't come from a really nice camera, I need to buy one ASAP. Funny on what on Facebook might look like a shot of heaven, I bet there weren't too many thinking there weren't fish even involved

Ooh and I think you need a beta tester (hint hint) for that new phone map

Ooh and I REALLY need to thank you for helping my buddy Kirk out with the maps for his new whitewater guide book. He said that if it weren't for you it would have been much much tougher, and you could tell by the tone of his voice how much it meant to him to be helped out so much by anyone let alone a complete stranger You the man

So is that still only 3 trips for the year

Great shots Joe my favorite is the camp shot over the stream that puts the icing on the cake. Be prepared fot lots of questions at next meeting!

I like to think of my wife's hand-me-down as really nice. The rubber band makes all the difference in the quality of the photos... while at the same time maintaining conductivity. The battery compartment cover was damaged as a result of a fumbled handoff at the Knoxville Fair a couple of years back... and no, we weren't on the Tilt-A-Whirl. Just a walkin'.

The pleasure was all mine. Very nice fellow.
