Default Cataloochee Creek

I do not fish the NC side of the park much and was over in the Cataloochee Valley Saturday and was curious about accessability and quality of Cataloochee Creek from some experts. Any insight would be appreciated. Would a good starting point be the Palmer Place?

Regards,

Thumbs up Fishing the Cataloochee

Anywhere you can get in is decent! Also go below the entrance road and fish below the bridge area. Around the horse camp can also be real productive. Orange is a good color at this time of the season!

I was there this past Sunday/Monday (yesterday). Water was higher than I was use to, and did not even have a bite on the Cataloochee. Thankfully the tribs were a little better, but not by much.

Try Caldwell Branch. I have had good luck everytime I have fished there- summer and Fall.
